The fame of Raka continued to spread across India. After defeating countless champions, he accepted an open challenge at the country's biggest traditional wrestling festival.
Thousands gathered around the massive akhara.
Then a new challenger appeared.
She was a towering female wrestler named Veera, standing nearly eight feet tall with a massive muscular physique. Her powerful shoulders, enormous arms, and years of disciplined training made even experienced wrestlers nervous.
Many in the crowd laughed.
"A woman against Raka?"
The referee signaled the start.
Within seconds everyone realized they had underestimated Veera.
She countered every move Raka attempted. His famous waist lock failed. His shoulder throw was blocked effortlessly. Every attack seemed to make Veera stronger.
After a long battle, Veera suddenly trapped Raka in a crushing bear hug.
The crowd gasped.
With incredible strength she lifted the giant wrestler completely off the ground, carried him several steps, and gently but decisively threw him onto the mud.
Before Raka could recover, Veera pinned both of his shoulders firmly.
The referee struck the ground.
"Winner... Veera!"
The arena exploded with cheers.
Veera helped Raka to his feet, but instead of ending the celebration there, she smiled confidently and said,
"So this is the famous champion everyone feared? Today you learned that strength alone does not guarantee victory."
She then effortlessly lifted Raka onto one shoulder and carried him on a lap around the arena while the audience cheered the new champion. Though Raka felt embarrassed, he accepted the defeat with dignity, knowing he had been fairly beaten.
Watching quietly from the edge of the arena was Raka's mother and mentor.
She stepped into the akhara.
The cheering slowly faded.
The elderly woman, dressed in a simple saree, stood tall with calm confidence. Though she was older, her broad shoulders, thick arms, and powerful stance revealed decades of wrestling experience.
She looked first at her son.
"A true wrestler accepts defeat," she said. "You did well by keeping your respect."
Then she turned to Veera.
"You are clearly a worthy champion. But if the crowd wishes... let us have one friendly exhibition between teacher and champion."
Veera smiled respectfully.
"It would be an honor."
The exhibition began.
The two powerful women exchanged technique after technique. Instead of relying only on strength, Raka's mother used perfect balance, timing, and experience. Every move displayed the wisdom gained over a lifetime in the akhara.
Finally, as Veera charged forward, the veteran wrestler sidestepped, secured a flawless hip throw, and gently brought the younger champion to the ground before pinning her shoulders.
The referee declared the exhibition complete.
The crowd rose to its feet with thunderous applause.
Veera immediately stood, folded her hands, and bowed to the elder wrestler.
"I lost to experience," she said with a smile. "Today I learned from a true master."
Raka also bowed before his mother.
The elderly woman raised both wrestlers' hands together.
"Real champions," she said, "do not measure greatness by humiliating others. They inspire, they learn, and they respect every worthy opponent."
The entire arena echoed with applause as the three wrestlers stood together, proving that the greatest victory in wrestling is earned through skill, humility, and respect.
